Joe's Groove Huddle

The rock project "Joe's Groove Huddle" was launched in 2020 by Jochen "Joe" Kinzig. Inspired by the lockdown and the resulting standstill in his live bands, the bass-player had the idea to write his own songs and record over the distance with other musicians.

In February 2021, the first single "Good Day" was released, followed by "Shot From Behind" in July 2021. The vocals and guitars for these two songs were performed by his former bandmates Uwe Flatter and Jochen Stien (rock band Killjoy from Mannheim/Germany). The keyboards were recorded by Torsten Lehnert and the drums by Christian Fier, both bandmates from current bands of Jochen. On "Shot from Behind" Eckhard Koch contributed the backing vocals.

With the third release Strong (January 2022) the lineup became more international. The vocals of Strong were sung by Eric Castiglia (Italy) and the rap part in the chorus was performed by Daniel Picknell (England). The guitars were recorded by Jochen's current bandmate Benedikt Staud and the drums were again played by Christian Fier.

The new release “Believe Me” (release day: 26th of August 2022) is a fusion of funk and rock. In this song the same musicians as in “Strong” participated.

The music of Joe's Groove Huddle is a journey through time. The rock songs of the band will bring back memories of the great rock music of the 70s and the 80s. Nevertheless there will always be some elements of modern rock music included in the songs.

The focus of Joe's Groove Huddle is having fun with making music. So it is more than likely that additional musicians will join the Groove Huddle for future releases.
